The Highland League community's rallied round 2 Huntly players who were allegedly racially abused.

An 84 year old man's been charged with a hate crime over an incident during Saturday's game at Keith.

Meanwhile, Nairn County are continuing efforts to identify the culprit who abused another Huntly player during a match on Wednesday.

Huntly boss Allan Hale said : "You don't expect it to happen once, let alone twice. It's shocking, it's disgusting, it's vile and there's absolutely no place for it at all".

"We're very grateful not only to Keith, but to Nairn County and the Highland League as a whole for their support, their very prompt actions and very clearly and strongly worded statements about how these type of events won't be tolerated anywhere".

The Highland League said : "The message is quite clear to those who use such language, you are not welcome at Highland League matches, or anywhere, so stay away as you have no place in a modern society".

"To all Highland League supporters, be aware of this issue and point out anyone who resorts to racist language".

"Remember, for bad things to survive, all that's needed is for good people to do nothing".

"It's time for good people to stand up and be counted."
