Ground Broken on Dundee Train Station Concourse
Work starting at Dundee Railway Station marks the beginning of a project to build an attractive gateway to the city for train passengers.
Work starting at Dundee Railway Station marks the beginning of a project to build an attractive gateway to the city for train passengers.
Contractors Balfour Beatty have arrived on site to start building the new concourse and ticket facilities, as well as a cafe and retail space.
A 120 bedroom hotel's also planned for the three floors above the concourse.
The new building's been designed as a new landmark within the central waterfront development that includes the city's new V&A.
Dundee City Council awarded Balfour Beatty the £28 million contract at a meeting in August.
The work will take place over the live railway with normal train services running - it's expected the new building will be finished in just over two years - in time for the opening of the V&A.
