Green light for Dundee music festival

The licensing application for a new two-day music festival has today been approved by Dundee City Council.

The application which outlines proposal for the festival at Camperdown Park on 12th and 13th of August 2017, with five live music areas including a main stage, big top tent and VIP area along with bars and food concessions, received a 100% vote of approval.

Carnival Fifty Six, named after the coordinates of the city of Dundee, will be delivered by one of the UK's biggest and most experienced festival management companies, Loudsound.

Loudsound is the production management expertise behind a raft of high profile festivals including Bestival (Isle of Wight), Rockness (Dores, The Highlands), and Brittish Summer Time at Hyde Park (London).

Speaking about the successful licencing application to stage the musical festival in Dundee, Craig Blyth, Festival sounder said: "We are delighted by today's decision by Dundee City Council, and are particularly pleased to have received a 100% vote of approval.

"It conveys a resoundingly positive message that Dundee is open for business.

"This is an exciting time for the city with the waterfront regeneration and major inward investment attracting significant focus and interest nationally and internatonally."
