Three girls have been charged after a fire was set in the toilets at a McDonald's in Dundee.

It happened on Reform Street around 9am yesterday.

The children, aged between 11 and 12, will be reported to the Youth Justice Assessor.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Three girls, aged 11, 11 and 12 have been charged in connection with a wilful fire within the toilets at McDonald’s restaurant, Reform Street, Dundee at around 9am on Sunday, 2 February, 2025.

“They will be reported to the Youth Justice Assessor.”

Police Sergeant Rachel McQueen of the City Centre Policing Team said: “Fires can spread quickly and have serious consequences.

“They can pose a risk to life and cause extensive damage to property.”
