Thousands raised for Lilly Douglas' family as tributes are paid to 'inspirational' Perthshire teen

Over £6k has been raised for the family of Perth teenager, Lily Douglas who passed away earlier this following her after a 5 year battle with cancer.
The Go Fund Me was set up by the 14-year-old's dance teacher, Erin McNicol, which raised thousands in just a few hours.
Aged 9, Lily was diagnosed with Ewing sarcoma, a rare type of cancer affecting bones or the tissue around the bones.

The youngster won the Teenager of Courage award in the 2021 Pride of Scotland awards for her bravery, positivity and determination to help others.
Inspired by Captain Tom she raised over three thousand pounds for NHS charities by taking a few steps using her frame.
She had been a champion dancer and her inspirational story reached celebrities such as Lewis Capaldi and Dame Arlene Philips.
Now, her former dance teacher Erin McNicol has launched a fundraiser to help support Lilly's family following her tragic loss.
Writing on the fundraising site GoFundMe, she said: "Lily was battling Ewing’s Sarcoma & has fought so unbelievably hard for almost 5 years. Her strength and determination were impeccable, she radiated light and positivity throughout & she was so unapologetically brave! I’m here asking you to help us give Lily the celebration of her life she deserves. "

St Johnstone FC will also hold a minute's silence on the 14th minute of their game with Dundee tonight to remember the teenager, described by many as an inspiration.
Lily's mum, Jane Douglas shared the tragic news of Lilly's death in a Facebook post on Sunday night.
She said: "My beautiful baby girl danced her way to heaven at 7.17 tonight her heart failed but she was on the sofa at home cuddled into me where she wanted to be.
"She will leave a massive hole in my heart if love could have saved her she would have lived to a million years old , she is at peace and is finally in no more pain.
"Even with cancer lily lived her best life , and was loved by everyone I hope I made her proud I was her mum , we were a great team."
