Free bus travel scheme for cancer patients in Dundee
A city bus company has teamed up with a new charity to help patients who have no other means of transport.

Cancer patients in Dundee are set to benefit from a new partnership between a city bus company and a new charity.
Xplore Dundee has handed over a number of bus tickets to CanDu (Dundee Cancer Support Network), which will provide free travel to hospital for people attending cancer treatment at Ninewells Hospital, who have no other means of transport.
Managing Director Elsie Turbyne said: "Donating these tickets was an easy decision to make – we all know someone who has been affected by cancer and any organisation which can make life easier for patients and their families deserves as much support as we can give.
"I hope these tickets will make it easier for many people to get to the hospital to receive the care they need"
CanDu has recently been set up to provide support for people with a cancer diagnosis, including practical help, respite, benefits advice and fundraising.
Debbie Findlay, who was named Dundee’s Citizen of the Year last month, is one of two patient representatives on the board. She’s also an experienced volunteer for MacMillan Cancer Support.
Debbie said: "We’re delighted that Xplore Dundee has provided these bus tickets to make it easier for cancer patients to access their treatment at Ninewells.
"It’s this kind of practical support we hope will be a real boost for people who already have a great deal to cope with following their diagnosis."
