A Forfar mum who's car was tampered with whilst parked outside her home says she wants to move house.

Chloe Foster was out driving with her toddler when she noticed there was an issue with her two front wheels.

When she took it into garage - mechanics found her nuts were loosened and the caps were missing.

They told her she was lucky her wheels didn't come off.

"I'm frightened to leave my car outside, I don't know if it's going to be targeted again or if it's a one-off," said Chloe.

"I like this area, it usually has quite a bad name but I've found it's gotten a lot better.

"However this has changed my mind. I'm hoping to move anyway but this has just frightened me and I want to move even sooner now."

Chloe was taking her one-year-girl on a day trip to Arbroath when she realised there was an issue.

"I could hear this banging and clunking come from the two front wheels," she added

"Initially I thought I'd maybe burst a tyre, or something had gotten stuck. It was quite scary."

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Inquiries are underway following the report of an attempted theft of wheels from a Vauxhall Astra car which was parked in Restenneth Drive in Forfar sometime overnight Monday 11/Tuesday 12 November 2019."
