Police in Fife are appealing for witnesses following a fire at an empty shop in Kirkcaldy.

Emergency services were called to the former WH Smith store on High Street just before 7.30pm last night.

No one was injured and enquiries are ongoing to establish the cause of the fire.

The blaze happened at the same building that was raided by police in May this year where police found £1million worth of cannabis.

Detective Inspector Samantha Davidson of Glenrothes CID said:

“We are working to establish the full circumstances of this fire and would urge anyone with information which could help to come forward.

“We would also be keen to speak to anyone with dashcam footage or private CCTV.

“Anyone who can help is asked to call 101, quoting reference 2947 of 16 August, 2022.”
