Fife Man Denies Pub Blade Attack

A Fife man has gone on trial accused of scarring a man for life in a pub attack.

Jody Venters, from Cupar, denies striking Steven Gray on the body with a knife or similar instrument to his severe injury and permanent disfigurement on November 23, 2014.

Venters, 34, also denies behaving in a threatening or abusive manner in the Central Bar, Lochgelly, one the same date by threatening Mr Gray and other patrons there with violence.

The trial, before temporary judge John Morris at the High Court in Livingston, is expected to last until Tuesday.
