Fife College has closed in a bid to reduce the spread of coronavirus in the community.

It has five campuses across the kingdom, including its Glenrothes and Leven sites.

A Fife spokesperson said: "The health and wellbeing of our students and staff is paramount. We have therefore decided to instigate a temporary closure of Fife College to help reduce the risk of spread of coronavirus within our community."

"We have been working with other Colleges across Scotland over the weekend in developing plans for the temporary closure.

"We will be deciding later today the precise timing of the closure and finalising arrangements to minimise the impact on you.

"We will provide staff and students with more details by email by the end of today."
