A motorcyclist has been killed in a crash in Monikie.

The 48-year-old man was riding along the B961 when he collided with a car at around 8.50pm on Tuesday.

Emergency services attended and the motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. No one else was injured.

The road was closed for several hours before it reopened.

Sergeant Kevin Wilkie said: “Our thoughts are with the friends and family of the man who died as a result of this incident.

“Our enquiries are ongoing and I am appealing to anyone with information who has not already contacted police to get in touch.

“I am also appealing to anyone who was in the area at the time and who may have dash-cam footage to contact us.”
