Fans tie flags and scarves to railings in memory of legendary boss McLean
The former Dundee United manager died yesterday aged 83
Scarves and flags are being tied to railings outside Tannadice in memory of legendary manager Jim McLean.
The 83-year-old died yesterday. He led Dundee United to the top flight title in the 1980s and famously beat Barcelona over two legs in the old UEFA Cup.
Fans have been stopping outside the stadium to pay tribute today, former club volunteer Sandy's one of them.
"I saw Jim McLean one day and I said to him 'morning Jim!'. He replied, 'don't call me Jim, it's Mr McLean to you." he said.
"It was just so funny. He's going to be really missed, he's a total legend."
Fellow Tangerine Paul Petrie believes his record won't be topped.
"He's number one, he'll never be beaten. It's impossible to beat him," he said.
"He was way ahead of his time, just an unbelievable man."
