Fake £50 notes reported in Tayside

A number of Ulster notes have been reported in recent days

You’re being urged to be on the lookout for counterfeit £50 notes – after reports they’re being circulated in Tayside.

These incidents happened in Kirriemuir, Forfar, Arbroath, Dundee, Stanley and Auchterarder in the last few days

Officers are keen to trace a man who is described as aged around mid twenties, spoke with an Irish accent, dark brown hair and a beard who was within Kirriemuir on the afternoon of Tuesday 18 July.

All retailers are advised to check all notes received, in particular Bank of Ulster £50 notes bearing serial number D1233901, and report any that do not appear to be genuine.
