We can exclusively reveal that more than 100 obese Scottish people have had to be rescued from their homes by fire crews because of their weight in the last 2 years. Helping the police and ambulance teams has cost the taxpayer more than £250,000.

Roddy Robertson works for the Fire Brigade Union.

His 48 year old brother weighed more than 20 stone and died of a heartattack in his Aberdeenshire home.
