Flights suspended at Edinburgh Airport following 'IT issue'

Flights at Edinburgh Airport have now resumed following an issue with its air traffic control provider.
Travel was suspended for a time after the issue arose on Friday morning.
Flight tracking website Flightradar24 said a Delta Air Lines flight from New York JFK to Edinburgh went into a holding pattern above the Scottish capital before being diverted to Dublin.
But a series of flights, including an Airbus flight to Gran Canaria, took off soon after.
In a statement at 10.45am the airport said: "Flights have now resumed following the IT issue with our air traffic control provider.
"We thank passengers for their patience and understanding."
Air traffic control (ATC) at Edinburgh airport is provided by Air Navigation Solutions (ANSL).
Nats, which manages most of the UK's airspace, said it will "work closely with the airlines impacted and support as best we can".
Earlier the Airport announced: "Due to an IT issue with our air traffic control provider, no flights are currently operating from Edinburgh Airport.
"Teams are working on the issue and aim to resolve as soon as possible.
"Passengers should contact their airline for the latest information on their flight."
Edinburgh Airport is the sixth busiest in the UK, and the busiest in Scotland.
It was used by 15.8 million passengers last year.
