Dundee United will spend a third season in the Championship.

It comes after the Tangerines lost 1-all to Livingston at Almondvale Stadium, 4-3 on aggregate.

Livingston Defender, Alan Lithgow, scored the first goal after six minutes with a close-range header, with United's Scott Fraser levelling the score in the 21st minute, but it wasn't enough to secure promotion.

Despite the result, Manager Csaba Laszlo, has insisted he will still be the boss at Tannadice next season, despite Dundee United missing out on top flight football.

He said: ''I am committed to the club and I will definitely stay.

We have a lot of work to rebuild everything.

We couldn't lose the game 3-2 at Tannadice and we had the same problem tonight, a very early goal.

Scott McDonald had the chance to score to make it 2-1, but he didn't.

Nobody is happy. We failed to be at the top (of the league) and failed to be in the last games of the play-offs and this is definitely very painful.''
