Dundee's 'top world' destination status could benefit Tayside and Fife
It was named alongside 21 others by Bloomberg Businessweek
Tayside and Fife could be heading towards a huge tourism boost, after Dundee was named one of the top places in the world to visit.
Leading US business magazine, Bloomberg Businessweek declared the City of Discovery a must-visit destination in 2018, alongside places like Borneo, South Korea and Los Angeles.
It comes a few months after Dundee was ranked one of the Wall Street Journal's top ten worldwide 'hot destinations'.
With all this publicity, Jim Clarkson from Visit Scotland believes it is a good sign for not just Dundee, but also the rest of the region.
He said: "2018 is shaping up nicely for the city- and this is just the beginning.
"Just the fact that these iconic articles are identifying that can only bode well".
He added: "When people come to a destination, somewhere like the V&A might be attractive for them, but they want to do lots of other things.
"It is all about working in partnership across a wider region that you can increase that dwell time.
"Things like city breaks holidaymakers can maybe base themselves in the city, but then head into more rural areas".
