Dundee have signed Inverness midfielders James Vincent and Danny Williams on pre-contract agreements.

The Tayside club announced that the pair will join on three-year contracts in the summer.

Dundee have also secured Darren O'Dea and Paul McGowan on extended deals.

Playmaker Vincent joined Caley Thistle from Kidderminster in 2013. The 26-year-old scored the winner in last season's William Hill Scottish Cup final but has been out for almost four months with a knee injury.

Williams, 28, has played 100 times for Inverness since joining from non-league Kendal Town in 2013.

Midfielder McGowan has signed a new two-year contract while O'Dea has penned a three-year deal after impressing since signing a short-term agreement in January.

Manager Paul Hartley told the club's official website: We are delighted they have committed their futures to the club.''

Meanwhile, Dundee have launched an appeal against Scott Bain's derby red card.

The goalkeeper, who is in the Scotland squad for Thursday's friendly against the Czech Republic, was sent off by Steven McLean for denying Dundee United an obvious goalscoring opportunity during their Tannadice clash on Sunday.

Bain brought down Billy McKay in the 51st minute but Dundee will argue that the covering Kevin Holt meant the striker would not have had an obvious chance.

Dundee were two goals up at the time but McKay netted the penalty past substitute David Mitchell and then an injury-time equaliser to earn the Ladbrokes Premiership's bottom club a point.

A club statement read: We can confirm that we have submitted an appeal against the red card given to Scott Bain during the match against Dundee United on Sunday.''

The 24-year-old will miss the visit of Ross County on April 2 if the appeal fails.
