Dundee have "fought off" a number of clubs to sign Scott Tiffoney from Partick Thistle.

It is new boss Tony Docherty's second summer signing as he looks to rebuild the squad ahead of their return to the Premiership.

The winger, 24, is a player that the Dee came up against last season in the Championship when he was at the Jags.

His professional career started with Greenock Morton before he moved to Livingston and then to mostly recently, Thistle.

He has also had loan spells with Clyde, Morton and Ayr.

Manager Tony Docherty has commented on the signing saying: “I am thrilled that Scott will be joining the club.

"He is a player that I have monitored and admired for a long time and is a player that will get the fans off their seats.

"When he has the ball, he can make things happen, he can create chances for others, and he can create opportunities for himself.

"He has a tremendous work ethic and wants to improve as a player.

"He is committed to the club and will be moving up here and I’m really excited about having him at the club.”
