Dundee Pride to be held in Slessor Gardens

Dundee Pride has been given the green light by council bosses to be held in Slessor Gardens.

The event, celebrating all in the LGBT community, will take place on September 21st.

Tommy Small from the group says: "These events are really important as it's all about promotion of equality and diversity. I think in the times we live in, that is a really important message. It's about making sure the LGBT+ community in Dundee feel supported and there is a day that we can celebrate us.

"By having the event in Slessor Gardens, we're excited about the fact we'll have much more space, it's a much more visible space and we can do much more in that area. Most Dundonians know it's a great location for concerts so we think it lends itself naturally to Dundee Pride."

Last year was the event's first and took place in city square.
