Dundee Park To Get New Year Makeover
Magdalen Green in the west end of the city will be improved after a funding target was reached.
Work to transform a Dundee park will get underway in the new year.
Groups involved in the bid to improve the play area in Magdalen Green have reached the 160-thousand pound target for the project.

Commitments to external funding have been achieved through sport Scotland, Play Scotland Active Places Grant Award of £62,000, Friends of Magdalen Green have raised £60,000, SUSTRANS funding of £10,000.
In addition Sir Robert McAlpine has agreed to “in-kind” fund site clearance and preparation works to the value of £20,000.
Dundee City Council has also pledged £10,000 to the works.
Craig Melville is the council’s environment convener: “This is an excellent project which has involved a partnership between the council, Friends of Magdalen Green and sportscotland.
“I want to pay tribute to the Friends of Magdalen Green for their tireless efforts in fundraising for the project as well as the assistance from sportscotland with their advice and Active Places Grant.
“We look forward to spring to see this play area emerge. I am sure that this will provide a focal point for activity and contribute to the health and wellbeing of the community at all ages.”
