Vandals have trashed a therapy garden in Dundee, which is used by military and uniformed officers with mental health issues.

The fence at the site in Dudhope Park was left covered in spray paint on Friday, and staff say a greenhouse and potting shed were smashed up the night before.

It adds to a string of similar incidents at the centre- which opened a year ago- causing hundreds of pounds worth of damage.

Police are now appealing for information on the second incident and believe the graffiti was left between 9:00 pm and 10:30 pm on Friday.

A police spokesman said: "There have been other vandalisms and break-ins here previously, with an incident being reported to us as recently as the beginning of last month.

"Even at the the late hour when this took place, the park is busy with skaters and dog walkers, and we hope that someone saw something of relevance which could help us".

Zisky Stovell is a horticultural therapist at the centre, and said: "The veterans work so hard on it and they have served their country, they have done their time and have worked to benefit society and to come in and see the work that they have done here trashed is really upsetting for them.

"The greenhouse panes and potting shed panes are probably most expensive ting, they are probably about £70 to replace each.

"I think the real problem with it, though is that it sends a message to the veterans that their stuff doesn't matter".
