Dundee manager Paul Hartley wants to channel Hamilton victory against Motherwell
The Dark Blues ended a six-match losing streak by grinding out a 1-0 victory at the SuperSeal Stadium last weekend.
Dundee manager Paul Hartley wants his players to take inspiration from their battling win at Hamilton. The Premiership bottom club ended a six-match losing streak by grinding out a 1-0 victory at the SuperSeal Stadium last weekend.
The performance saw a change of style from Hartley's preference for flair and attacking football and he wants to see similar fight when they host Motherwell on Saturday.
"We have got to use it as a motivation, how we performed and how we fought for each other, it was a different type of performance,'' Hartley said.
"We went a little more direct and we were harder to beat and harder to play against. The pleasing thing was we got a clean sheet and it was a real team performance.
"They have got it in them, they showed that last week. They had to go and play a different style of football, which they showed they can do. They have got to keep doing that.''
Hartley marked the victory by gathering his players in a huddle on the pitch in a show of togetherness.
"It wasn't pre-planned, it was just to say to the players how well they had done, and show a real togetherness within the club and staff,'' he said.
"It was to say well done, and we have got to stick together and fix this. There is still a lot of hard work to be done. Just because we got a good result doesn't mean everything is okay, it's not.
"We have got to keep fighting every day in training and work as hard as we can and be committed."
