Dundee Man Accused Of Leaving Baby Alone In Hot Car

A Dundee man is facing court accused of leaving an eight-month-old boy unattended "for an extended period" in a locked car in direct sunlight on a hot day.

Nawaz Mohammed is alleged to have "wilfully neglected" the tot on August 22 this year in Dundee's Dalcraig Crescent "in a manner likely to cause him unnecessary suffering or injury to health".

Prosecutors say the boy was left alone in the locked car for a period of time, with the car parked in direct sunlight in hot weather conditions and with no ventilation within the vehicle.

Mohammed, 37, of Dundee, did not enter a plea when the case called at Dundee Sheriff Court.

Sheriff Elizabeth Munro continued the case without plea until later this month.
