A Dundee fitness trainer who carried out a string of attacks on four former girlfriends has been sentenced to three years behind bars.

Michael McCash was found guilty of a total of 13 charges which included assault to danger of life with the use of a knife or needle.

The 28-year-old carried out the attacks between 2008 and 2016.

Detective Sergeant Gordon Patullo, Domestic Abuse Task Force, said: “Michael McCash is a violent and controlling individual, who committed repeated and sustained acts of violence against multiple partners over a period of nine years.

"His violent abuse was committed against his partners, women who trusted him. However, thanks to their bravery in coming forward and reporting to us, McCash is facing the consequences of his actions.

"We would take this opportunity to reach out to anyone who is experiencing or has experienced domestic abuse; it is never too late to report to the police or seek support and advice from one of our partner agencies such as Women's Aid."
