Dundee's Eilish McColgan rules out cross country return
The 28-year-old broke her mum's 10 mile Scottish record yesterday but says previous injuries mean she'll be keeping to the track and road

Dundee runner Eilish McColgan has ruled out a return to cross country racing this winter after breaking her mum's Scottish 10 mile record on the road.
Fellow Scot Andrew Butchart took to the mud at Stirling at the weekend, with 800 metre runner Lynsey Sharp also hinting she will soon dig out the long spikes.
But McColgan who last competed in a cross country race in 2011 has said previous injuries means she'll be keeping to the track and road.
"I've got two previous foot surgeries and I've also got seven screws and a metal plate in my left foot.
"It's just too much of a risk, I've got to stick with flat surfaces for running.
"I would love to do it, we used to travel up and down Scotland. The muddier, colder locations were the best.
"I'm a bit scared if that foot went again and required another surgery, it would be a career-ending issue."
The 28-year-old won the Great South Run yesterday in a time of 51 minutes and 38 seconds.
It put her second on the British all-time list, 25 seconds behind Paula Radcliffe.
McColgan says the time gives her confidence she can move up distances successfully.
"I wasn't quite sure if I would break it (Liz McColgan's record) so to go 22 seconds underneath it I'm over the moon with that and really excited about my future moving up to some of the longer road races."
