Dundee East MP Stewart Hosie to stand down at next general election
He has represented the constituency for nearly 20 years
Dundee East MP Stewart Hosie has announced that he will stand down at the next UK general election.
The veteran politician - who has represented the constituency for nearly two decades - has become the fifth SNP MP to say they will not seek re-election.
The party's former Westminster leader Ian Blackford and former treasurer Douglas Chapman have both announced their retirement, while Glenrothes MP Peter Grant and Hamilton East MP Angela Crawley will also step down.
Mr Hosie said: 'It has been the greatest privilege of my life to represent the constituency I was born and grew up in."
