A Dundee dog owner says she feels traumatised after two men tried to steal her dog in Baxter Park.

The thieves tried to lure Harvey Walker's pup Pele with treats on Tuesday afternoon.

She managed to get him back on his lead before running away.

"It was just really scary, had I not been cautious of it already he probably wouldn't be here with me now," she said.

"I ran out of the park and went home. I couldn't stop crying and I thought how could I let people know this happened.

"I shared on social media and phoned the police as well and they've followed it up.

"Hopefully we can stop this. It's just horrible, it doesn't even bear thinking about."

Another dog in the Menzieshill area of the city was also taken the same day before later being recovered.
