They're street rivals, but Dundee and Dundee United will be sponsored by the same company from next season.

A 2 year contract's been signed with Solicitors and Estate Agents, McEwan Fraser Legal.

They’ll also sponsor Inverness Caley Thistle from next season too.

Revealing details of the deals, Ken McEwan, chief executive of McEwan Fraser Legal, said:

"In the past there have been deals involving the same sponsor for two clubs - for instance the Old Firm.

"But this hat-trick of deals is unique in Scottish football.

"It is the first time the Tayside clubs have shared the same sponsor and we are delighted to become partners with both clubs. At the same time, we are extremely pleased to confirm McEwan Fraser Legal has also signed a deal to become the new main club sponsors with Inverness Caledonian Thistle. We were thrilled at the reaction our proposal received from the directors at Dens Park and Tannadice, especially at a time when our business interests are developing at such a rapid rate in the city.”

Dundee FC managing director John Nelms said ”This is a fantastic opportunity for Dundee Football Club and we look forward to starting this partnership with McEwan Fraser Legal from next season."

Paul Reid, head of commercial sales at Tannadice, said: “Dundee United are delighted to have McEwan Fraser Legal as our main club sponsor for seasons 2016/17-2017/18 and hopefully beyond, we look forward to working closely with the company helping build a long and successful partnership.”
