Dundee and Angus College students who saved upcoming assignments on a campus hard drive have lost their work.

Bosses say they're unable to retrieve the information after last week's cyber attack.

It's not yet known how many students are affected.

Dundee and Angus College Principal Grant Ritchie said: "There is some work that students will have done that was ready for assessment that's been lost.

"But when we talk to SQA about that, it has protocols for dealing with it. For example the high school fire in Fife, these things happen and assessment materials can be lost.

"Our lecturers will have records of the work that's done. The work may not exist anymore but the SQA will be comfortable with accepting those results."

Classes resumed today after three days of cancellations.
