Dundee air traffic controllers to strike as talks with HIAL break down
Industrial action will take place on May 23 at seven Scottish airports
Air Traffic Controllers at Dundee airport will strike later this month after talks with their employer broke down.
Seven Scottish airports - including Dundee - will feel the effects of the industiral action on the 23rd of May.
That's after discussions over a long-running pay dispute between workers and Highlands and Islands Aiports Limited stalled.
The Prospect union says it's been left with no choice as no new offer has been made, and it follows the scrapping of a planned strike last month
David Avery, Prospect negotiations officer, said: “Members have run out of patience with HIAL.
"Talks have been ongoing for more than a year to seek to resolve this dispute but to no avail.
Prospect agreed to withdraw our strike action in April to allow further talks to take place and members trusted that HIAL would use that time to bring forward proposals to resolve the dispute - HIAL have abused that trust.
“Members do not want to take industrial action but have been left with no choice. If they want to prevent disruption across the highlands on 23 May and throughout the summer then Scottish Ministers need to intervene."
HIAL says it's committed to resolving the dispute and adds it's bound by Government pay policies
