Drugs worth more than £8,000 discovered in Perth

Police Scotland can confirm that a 38-year-old man has been charged in connection with drugs offences after cocaine with an estimated illicit street value of over £8000 was recovered from an address in Woodside Crescent, Perth on Thursday 10th November.

Police Scotland can confirm that a 38-year-old man has been charged in connection with drugs offences after cocaine with an estimated illicit street value of over £8000 was recovered from an address in Woodside Crescent, Perth on Thursday 10th November.

An address in Strathtay Road, Perth was also searched as part of Operation Slate, an initiative to tackle drug related crime and a 33-year-old man was charged in connection with drugs offences after a quantity of cannabis was recovered.

Both cases have been reported to the Procurator Fiscal.

Sergeant Dave Rice, Community Investigation Team, Perth and Kinross said

“You have told us that drug-related crime is a concern and we are focused on disrupting criminality and reducing harm in Perthshire. We will continue to act on information you provide, to carry out searches under warrant and take drugs out of our communities. "Further search warrants were executed in Aberfeldy today and although no-one was charged on this occasion, we are committed to disrupting and deterring criminality and this sends out a clear message that we will take positive action on information about drug activity.”
