Driver who died in Perthshire crash named

Emergency services were called to the incident but Brenda Donaldson, from Crook of Devon, died of her injuries at the scene.

A woman who died in a crash between a car and a van in Perthshire has been named by police. Brenda Donaldson, 55, was driving a grey Citroen Xsara when it collided with a white Ford Transit on the A977 Kinross to Crook Of Devon road in Perthshire at around 7.10am yesterday. Emergency services were called to the incident but Ms Donaldson, from Crook of Devon, died of her injuries at the scene. A Police Scotland spokesman said: 'Her family are understandably upset by their sudden loss and have said that she will be greatly missed.'' The male driver and passenger of the van suffered minor injuries and were treated at the scene. The road was closed while officers investigated the circumstances of the crash. The spokesman added: 'Inquiries into the full set of circumstances of the incident are on-going. As with all sudden deaths a report has been submitted to the procurator fiscal.' Officers at Tayside Division are appealing for anyone with information about the crash to contact them on 101.
