Dozens of jobs go as another Dundee-based construction firm collapses
Land & Building Services says the loss of McGill & Co has led to the firm being placed in administration with all 27 staff being made redundant.
Another Dundee-based construction company has gone into administration.
All 27 members of staff at Land & Building Services in the city have been made redundant.
They firm says administration has been caused by difficult trading conditions and loss of major client McGill & Co, resulting in severe and unsustainable cash flow problems.
The company, which is based at South Road, has ceased trading immediately. They were founded in 1990 and had worked on several-award winning projects including Scotland’s oldest iron bridge.
The news comes just days after McGill and Co collapsed leading to 374 people losing their jobs – the bulk of these were in Dundee.
Derek Forsyth, Business Recovery Partner with Campbell Dallas said: “The trading and cash flow problems affecting the construction sector are well-documented, and unfortunately Land & Building Services has been affected by these issues, together with the loss of a major client (McGill & Co) in the Tayside market.
“We will now be marketing the company’s assets for sale, including remaining contracts, and a wide range of plant and equipment, and would urge interested parties to contact us as soon as possible.
“We will also be working closely with the relevant agencies, including the Redundancy Payments Office, to ensure the employees receive as much support as possible.
