A person has died near Montrose rail station, after emergency services rushed to the scene early on Monday morning, with trains unable to stop at the station while investigations took place.
A spokesperson from the British Transport Police said: "Officers were called to Montrose station at 6.40am this morning (20th December) following reports of a casualty near the tracks."
"Paramedics also attended, and sadly a person was pronounced dead at the scene."
"The incident is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the procurator fiscal."
