DD postcode one of the luckiest in the country
The DD postcode is officially one of the luckiest in Scotland.
The National Lottery’s confirmed it's home to the third highest number of big money lottery winners per head of population in Scotland over the past two years, and it ranks sixth in the whole of the UK.
In total 19 top tier prizes of at least £50,000 have been banked by players in the DD postcode, which includes the towns of Brechin, Arbroath and Montrose, including the creation of three Lottery millionaires.
This makes the DD area one of the luckiest of the UK’s 121 postcode areas.
197 major prizes of £50,000 or more have been won in the area and 18 millionaires created since The National Lottery began.
Local winners who have shared news of their luck recently include Scotland’s newest multi-millionaire John Bowman from Forfar who scooped a spectacular £10,317,199 Lotto jackpot, and lorry driver Raymond Storey from Dundee who sped into early retirement with his £1M EuroMillions win.
Andy Carter, Senior Winners’ Advisor for The National Lottery, the man who pays out the big winners, said, “Residents have been enjoying plenty of National Lottery luck recently, so much so they are one of the luckiest postcodes in the UK. With plenty of big money wins and three millionaires created over the last two years, they have lots to celebrate.
