Dundee and Angus college will be shut for the whole day after a cyber attack hit its IT systems on Friday.

All three campuses are closed to staff and students - the breach is not believed to have affected personal data.

A Dundee and Angus College spokeperson said: "The College experienced a cyber attack on Friday 31st January impacting on a number of College IT systems.

"To help us minimise the disruption caused by this cyber attack all college campuses will be closed for all students and open for all staff on Monday 3rd February 2020.

"This closure covers all classes including college students, school pupils, evening classes and student interviews.

"Classes should resume as normal from Tuesday 4th February, unless notified otherwise.

"College staff are working around the clock to resolve these issues to minimise this obvious disruption to students.

"Due to our controls around students and staff personal data we do not believe that personal data has been affected."
