Countryside meets city: 2019 Perth Show begins in South Inch Park
Thousands are expected to turn out for the two day event with a giant donkey among the star attractions
People in Perth can get their own taste of the countryside today as cattle and tractors take over South Inch Park.
Thousands will flock to the city for the 2019 Perth Show - with this year's star attraction being a giant donkey called Hettie.
Show chairman Donald McDiarmid believes there's nothing quite like it.
"We're one of the last agricultural shows to be held in the town centre, I don't think there's any of those shows left in Scotland," he said.
"We're quite unique in that people can walk from their house right into the showground."
Celebrity chef Phil Vickery is opening the Perthshire on a Plate food festival today, Donald said it's a great draw.
"He'll be doing two cooking demonstrations, as will Masterchef winner Garry Maclean tomorrow.
"There is something for everything."
Organisers expect over 5,000 people turn out for the 157th annual two day show.
