Convicted murderer missing after failing to return from day release

Police are warning the public not to approach a convicted murderer who has failed to return to HMP Castle Huntly near Dundee.

50 year old James Casey was due to arrive back last night from day release and officers believe he may have travelled to the Inverness area.

He is 5ft 8in with receding hair and brown eyes. When last seen he was wearing a blue coat, black hooded top, blue jeans and brown walking boots.

Officers say he should not be approached by members of the public if seen.

Anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to contact police on 101.
