Celtic have completed the signing of Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Joe Hart on a three-year deal.

The former England number one has been drafted in as Ange Postecoglou looks to address their goalkeeping crisis.

Big money signing Vasilis Barkas has failed to impress since joining last summer while Scott Bain has not been able to hold down a regular first team place.

Speaking to the club webiste, Hart said: “This is a great moment for me in my career and I am absolutely delighted to be joining a club of Celtic’s stature.

“I know just how big this club is and of the incredible support that it enjoys, and I can’t wait to play in front of the fans at Celtic Park.

“I’m looking forward to meeting up with my new team-mates now and getting to work with the squad and, in particular, the other goalkeepers here.”

Hart, 34, was Tottenham's backup goalkeeper last season.

He made 10 appearances in total but none of those were in the Premier League.

The experienced stopper started his career with Shrewsbury Town before joining Manchester City.

A loan spell at Birmingham City shot him into the limelight before he nailed down the number one spot at both Manchester City and England.

Hart has been capped by his country 75 times - the last of those coming in 2017.

His career stalled following the arrival of Pep Guardiola to the Etihad Stadium and he was shipped out on loan to Torino and West Ham United.

A permanent move to Burnley followed where he was understudy to Nick Pope before he made the switch to Tottenham last summer.
