CCTV appeal following Arbroath assault

Detectives have released images following the incident outside a bar in December.

Detectives in Arbroath have issued CCTV images as they investigate an assault that left a man needing hospital treatment back in 2016.

The 21-year-old was seriously injured near the Stag Bar in the town, it happened on Weavers Close at around 9.30pm on Thursday, December 22.

Officers have issued CCTV images of a man they wish to trace in connection with the incident – they have asked him or anyone who might know him to come forward to assist with their inquiries.

He is described as a black male, aged between 25 – 35 years old, short dark hair, dark facial hair or beard.

At the time of the incident, he wearing a two tone hooded anorak, dark trousers and dark footwear.

He was seen in the vicinity of the incident and also subsequently in the Townhouse Hotel.

It is believed that he may have links to the Liverpool or Manchester area.
