Cash Machine Raids In Angus

Thieves made off with a five figure sum of cash from an ATM in Kirriemuir

Investigations are continuing following raids at two cash machines in Angus. It's now emerged a five figure sum of cash was taken from an Royal Bank of Scotland ATM in Kirriemuir at around 4.50am on Saturday morning. There was also an attempted theft at the Co-op on Gardyne Street in Friockeim. Both incidents are thought to be connected Police are particularly keen to trace three men wearing dark clothing, who were travelling in a blue BMW 1 series car, registration number YE63 BPZ that was seen in the area of Friockheim at the time. The BMW appears to have been in the Angus area for a number of hours during that morning. The vehicle is known to have passed through Dundee in the Claverhouse Road area, and was last seen heading southwards on the A90 near to Longforgan. During enquiry into the reported incidents, police recovered empty cash machine cassettes on the A928, Kirriemuir to Glamis road.
