Carnival 56 gets underway in Dundee

The two-day music festival takes place at the city’s Camperdown Park

Carnival 56 has arrived.

After months of waiting, Dundee's newest festival is underway at Camperdown Park.

Around 20,000 music fans are expected to pass through the gates over the weekend.

If you are heading to the event, you are being reminded that there will be a police presence in the area throughout the weekend. Bag searches and other restrictions will be in operation.

With such a high number of festival-goers expected, organisers are encouraging people to leave the car behind.

There will be regular buses going to and from the site and the city centre throughout the weekend.
