Police urge drivers to keep vehicles locked after double car theft near Forfar

Police are appealing for information and reminding drivers to keep their vehicles locked after two cars were stolen near Forfar.

The first happened around 3.05am on Monday, 27th June when a white Toyota Hilux, reg MF18 XAE, was stolen from outside a property in the Eassie area.

The following morning, around 2.30am, a black Land Rover Discovery, reg K4 TDW, from outside a property in Ballindarg.

Officers are urging anyone who may have seen or heard any suspicious or unusual activity in the area over the past two days to get in touch.

In a statement Police Scotland said:

"If you believe you have seen either of the cars or have any dashcam or private CCTV footage that could help with enquiries, please contact police as soon as possible.

"Motorists are also reminded to ensure they lock their vehicles, taking any keys with them when leaving it unattended, also removing or storing anything of value out of sight.

"Anyone with information can call 101, quoting reference number 0279 of 27 June or 0292 of 28 June. Alternatively, you can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
