Car hits 8-year-old girl in Glenrothes

It happened at a pedestrian crossing near Lidl on Leslie Road

An 8-year-old girl has been taken to hospital with a serious leg injury after being hit by a car in Glenrothes.

Police are appealing for information following the incident on Leslie Road.

It happened when the girl was on a pedestrian crossing near the Lidl supermarket in the town around 3.30pm on Saturday, 19 February.

She was involved in a collision with a silver Kia Sportage and the driver stopped to assist.

Police Constable John Brown said: “We are keen to speak to anyone who saw what happened, in particular a woman driver who also stopped to assist.

“If you were in the area and can help them please get in touch. We would also like to speak to anyone driving at the time who has dash-cam footage that could help with our enquiries.”
