Camperdown Wildlife Centre in Dundee will remain closed until Thursday 4th January, following the death of one of its young lion-tailed macaques.

A statement issued on its Facebook page on Sunday revealed that the animal had passed away, and being a very social species, the rest of the group had to have time to grieve.

The troop of eleven lion-tailed macaques, which are an endangered species, arrived at the centre from Belfast Zoo in October.

Staff at the centre thanked everone who passed on their concerns following the incident.
