Callous thieves steal car, cash and jewellery from shocked pensioners

Two men brandished a weapon when they entered the home of the Dundee couple in their 70's

Police are hunting two men who robbed a Dundee couple in their 70’s, getting away with jewellery, cash and a black Vauxhall corsa.

The robbers entered a home on Strathyre Avenue at around 7.20pm yesterday, whilst the couple were at home.

They were armed with a weapon and demanded money from the pensioners.

Detective Inspector Gavin McKinlay said : ‘Thankfully, the couple were unhurt but extremely shocked by the incident.

They made off with ladies and gents jewellery, cash, currency and a black Vauxhall Corsa with the registration mark SG13 ZLZ.

‘One of the men is described as being five foot eight inches tall, of slim build, with dark hair. He was wearing a grey knitted hat and a Burberry scarf over his face.

‘The other man is described as been five foot eight inches tall, of slim build, with dark hair. He was wearing a hat and a Burberry scarf over his face. He was wearing a cream coloured jacket with a circular motif."
