Broughty Ferry New Year's day dook may be delayed due to strong winds

The organisers of a historic New Year's day tradition in Broughty Ferry are facing a nervous wait to see if Wednesday's dook will go ahead.
The event dates back to the late 18-hundreds - but a forecast of strong winds and a late tide could see it postponed.
Organiser Joyce McIntosh said that's a last resort.
"In my 41 years (as organiser) that's never happened. We've got entries in from Australia, New Zealand and Massachusetts in America," she said.
"These people might not be around in two weeks when we do that which would obviously be a big disappointment for them.
"We've been dooking on New Year's day for well over 120 years. This is a tradition for us, it's not something we just go out and do like everyone else."
The start time has already been pushed back to 3.30pm due to a late tide, and Ms McIntosh admits that presents another challenge with light.
"We've never done this in the gloaming before. We have a six metre floodlight which will hopefully light up all of the harbour area," she added.
"We've got additional lights on the castle side so hopefully we have enough daylight."
The event is seen as one the oldest New Year's day dooks in Scotland, with up to 400 people taking part each year.
Organisers will make a decision on the event in the next 24 hours, with the option of postponing it for two weeks time.
