Both Broughty Ferry lifeboats were scrambled to the West Sands St Andrews last night (Monday 17th July) – to reports of a Kitesurfer in trouble.

It happened just before 6.00pm with crews on scene shortly after. Luckily, before they RNLI lifeguards had rescued the kitesurfer. However as the boats were in the area they searched for the missing kiteboard. By 7pm the board had been recovered and both lifeboats made for station. Both lifeboats were back on station by 7.30pm and made ready for any further call outs.
