Police in Perth are looking for information after lights, which had been showing solidarity with Ukraine, were smashed.

Officers say it could have happened any time between 12pm on Friday 11th March and 8am on Monday 21st March.

The lights have been glowing yellow and blue in support of Ukraine as the war there with Russia continues.

Several bridge light fixtures, with reinforced glass, were smashed.

Constable Callum Gibson from Police Scotland said:

“This is a malicious act of vandalism and it will take time for the lights to be replaced. I am appealing to anyone who has any information or knowledge regarding this crime to contact us.”

Perth and Kinross Council have also commented on the incident:

A Perth & Kinross Spokesperson said: “This is a deplorable act of vandalism, made more so as the lights were blue and yellow in support of Ukraine.

“We would urge anyone who has information to contact Police Scotland on 101.”
